Raizes em movimento - The opening piece of the exhibition “Eixos da Travessia”, this sculpture pays homage to the migratory flows that shaped the state of Mato Grosso - especially the displacement of families who, coming from the south, built their lives amidst the vastness of the Amazon and the Cerrado. The wooden composition reveals a central body erected like a symbolic landmark or monument, flanked by spheres of different sizes, which represent the cycles of the human journey: leaving, moving, arriving and putting down roots. Each sphere marks a stage of this journey, composing a non-linear but living trajectory - circular, fluid, ancestral. At once sculpture and allegory, the work sums up the spirit of the collection: transforming matter into memory and gesture into territory.
